Théâtre de la Solitude
Le Théâtre de la Solitude was founded in Paris in 2001, to provide actors and writers with a place to experiment in privacy. It has hosted readings by women writers in French and English, including pieces by Franco-Brazilian actor/director Marcia de Castro and French painter/poet Elisabeth Pillorget, and a first reading in French of “Are Women Human?” by Catharine MacKinnon, in the presence of the author. The pieces “Pouvoir” (Blake) and “Les Bonnes” (Genet) were performed there with the actresses Jeanine Sémédo and Dominique Benôit-Frot, with Olga Terbach directing.

Félice the Clown
A silent clown who wanders through architecturally significant spaces, Félice has been performed in the courtyard of the Louvre at night, in the gardens of the Palais-Royal, at the Avignon Festival in the street (including the year of a strike, in solidarity with the artists) and in New York at Lincoln Center Plaza.

Simone de Beauvoir: On Sex, Art and Feminism
This piece began as a selection of texts from Beauvoir’s journals (Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter, La Force de l’Age, etc.) and was entitled “Simone de Beauvoir In Her Own Words.” It was first performed at the Theatre Studio in New York in 1999.It was then developed into a one-woman show, written by the author and performed in various versions at The Mint Theatre (“Scenes from a Life”), The John Houseman Studio Theatre, and the Theatre St. Marks (Simone de Beauvoir: On Sex, Art and Feminism). All of these versions were directed by Michael John Murnin. Selections from the play were performed at the Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, hosted by Danny Glover, in 2013.
